Trail Overview & Practical Info

This trail is short but rich in character, with many wooden bridges, steep slopes, and a gentle stream guiding your steps. It's suitable for beginners with proper gear.

Access & Parking

Parking is limited and there are no toilet facilities. Be prepared for unpaved roads. Many hikers choose to start from Hirozawa-dera Onsen for easier access.

Highlights & Scenic Points

You’ll hear nothing but water and birdsong. Seasonal flowers bloom along the trail, and the moss-covered stones near Fudo Falls create a mystical atmosphere.

Cautions & Tips from Experience

Some sections are narrow with steep drops. Bridges can wobble. Be especially cautious during the rainy season, and never forget your anti-leech spray.

This trail is not about dramatic views or flashy landscapes—it's about rediscovering your calm, step by step, in the heart of nature.

With the right mindset and gear, anyone can enjoy this tranquil time in nature.

What I Felt on Today’s Hike

Warning: Real footage of a leech encounter. Not for the faint-hearted.

This morning, I just wanted to reset myself. Walking along a quiet mountain path with my dog Momiji, I felt peace—until leeches changed everything. They brought back an old trauma from Mt. Sannotō ten years ago. But I had my leech spray this time. Still, I panicked. I wanted to run away. And yet... even with fear, this place moved me. The sound of water, the forest's silence, the richness of Japan's nature—it's something I had to share.

How to Enjoy This Trail Safely

Here’s what I recommend if you're planning to hike this trail: sturdy hiking shoes, a leech repellent spray, gloves, and a calm, cautious mindset. Some sections are very narrow with steep drop-offs—losing your footing could be fatal. Avoid distractions like using your phone while walking. This trail rewards the well-prepared with a quiet, unforgettable experience.
